Dr. Tiffany Flores was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Irvin High School (1990), the University of Texas at El Paso (1995), and Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine (1999).Her father, a local physician, told wonderful stories of illnesses he treated and the amazing and interesting people he helped in his practice. He encouraged her to become a veterinarian when she was seven years old after she started dragging home injured bugs (and the occasional dead critter) to “heal” at home. She loves emergency medicine for the wonderful pets and families she meets, and the difficult medical puzzles that critical cases provide.
In her spare time, she enjoys tending to her “farm” of horses, chickens, dogs, fish, and “Steve”, the female bird. She also loves to cook, hike, read, garden, travel, and play piano. She shares the farm and her love of all things furry with her family; Rich, Sophie, and Sam.
Dr. Hernandez is a born and raised El Pasoan. Growing up in central, she graduated from Jefferson/Silva Magnet HS and completed her Bachelor’s of Science at UTEP. Dr. Hernandez has had a love for all animals and wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 5 years old. Dr. Hernandez had the fortune of volunteering at the El Paso Zoo, where she gained the experience and knowledge she needed to follow her dreams of being accepted into veterinary school. In 2013, Dr. Hernandez was accepted to the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. While in school she developed a passion for emergency medicine through various clubs and organizations. Dr. Hernandez spent a summer abroad touring the Czech Republic and Austria for an exotic medicine and surgery externship. After graduating in 2017, she spent her first out of veterinary school working in a mixed animal clinic in Austin, TX. This job provided her the opportunity to hone the skills she had spent years learning and build her confidence. When asked, Dr. Hernandez says she thinks of her time in Austin as the first big stepping stone in her career. “Austin will always hold a special place in my heart, because so many big milestones in my personal life and career happened there.” After being away for so long, Dr. Hernandez decided it was time to bring her family back home to the borderland.Dr. Hernandez keeps very busy with raising a baby boy and caring for her dog and cat.
Dr. Elizabeth Simpson
Dr. Elizabeth Simpson is a native of El Paso and has been an associate Veterinarian at the El Paso Animal Emergency and Veterinary Specialty Center since 2007, except for a brief hiatus. She developed her love of animals early in her childhood. She had several pets growing up and her grandmother had a small farm with ducks, chickens, roosters, rabbits, and dogs that nurtured her love of animals even more. She always knew she wanted to become a Veterinarian.
She graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. She continued her education and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and finished her senior clinical year at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she moved to Portland Oregon where she was in general practice for two years. She then moved back to El Paso Texas to be with family and it was here that she was able to develop her interest and love of emergency medicine and critical care. She enjoys the diversity and challenging cases/patients seen on emergency. Seeking a lifestyle change for her family, she moved to Maui, Hawaii, for a brief period of time where she practiced general medicine and preventative care. Missing her family and love of emergency medicine she returned to her hometown of El Paso and feels proud and privileged to be back at the El Paso Animal Emergency and Specialty Center. She is especially excited to be able to incorporate and offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy in care and treatment of patients. She is happy to be in a hospital that is growing and able to offer new modalities and advanced care. When she is not busy at the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, 3 dogs and the newest furry addition a hamster named Friday. She also loves traveling, hiking, running, reading and baking.

In her free time, Dr. Clement’s hobbies include gardening, playing the piano, hiking, playing tennis and golf and cooking.
